Official Online Store Open for Business

The Bradenton Marauders, who will begin their first season as the Pittsburgh Pirates' Class-A Florida State League affiliate in April, have launched their official online store at marauders.milbstore.com.

The site allows visitors to search for Bradenton Marauders merchandise by two different sets of criteria - type of merchandise or price range. The merchandise is divided into categories for apparel, caps and novelties, while the price range options are Under $10, $10-$20, $20-$40, $40-$60.

Marauders Gear Hits the Market

The Bradenton Marauders began selling merchandise at the McKechnie Field Gift Shop and Pirate City in Bradenton on Tuesday. The Pittsburgh Pirates' affiliate, which will begin its first season in the Class-A Florida State League in April, can also process e-mail orders for merchandise at maraudersinfo@pirates.com. The team is in the process of opening an online store.

Tony Sanchez recently ranked 82nd on a list of top 100 minor-league prospects compiled by ESPN, Scouts, Inc.'s Keith Law. The catcher has earned an invitation to spring training, but he could start the season at Class-A Bradenton.

Despite overtures from Lemieux and others, Nutting insists Pirates aren't for sale

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pirates owner Bob Nutting declined to listen to separate proposals to buy the team last year, including a surprise bid from Pittsburgh Penguins owner Mario Lemieux, officials with knowledge of the talks told The Associated Press.
The officials spoke Saturday on condition of anonymity because the talks were private.
